The letters by Lorenzo de' Medici reveal the most significant aspects, often purposely concealed, of the actions of this most prominent figure of the Italian Renaissance.
The work has been published under the patronage of the National Institute of Italian Renaissance Studies and in collaboration with the following institutions: The Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies Villa I Tatti, The Renaissance Society of America, The Warburg Institute at the University of London.
Each volume, accompanied by a historical commentary entrusted to world-wide experts, presents the unabridged texts of Lorenzo's letters addressed to various important personalities of his time. Each letter has an appendix of critical annotations.
