·        The result of more than ten years of research in the Biblioteca Reale and Regi Archivi of Turin, Italy, this work -in the series of the drawings of Leonardo da Vinci and his circle arranged and introduced by Carlo Pedretti- presents a definitive edition of all the Leonardo material assembled by Carlo Alberto of Savoy about 1840, including the famous self-portrait and the study for the angel of the Virgin of the Rocks, which Berenson acclaimed as 'the most beautiful drawing in the world'.

       ·        It also includes an appendix on the 'Drawings of artistic nature in the Codex on the Flight of Birds' as well as an       actual-size reproduction of the newly discovered Codex Saluzzo 312, which is an unpublished collection of Leonardo's       studies of military architecture compiled about 1840.

 ·        A leather-covered box (size 335 x 488 mm), with gold stamping, contains 23 plates with facsimile reproductions of the drawings, recto and verso, a text volume of 138 pages, printed on handmade paper and bound in Fabriano paper, and the volume reproducing the Codex Saluzzo 312.
